This section is one of the most beautiful sections within the 4-day Inca trail route, we will find the archaeological rest of Wiñayhuayna, accompanied by a natural and cultural landscape, you can see a variety of orchids, a variety of birds such as the hummingbird.

The Inca trek presents an intermediate difficulty, a route that begins at km 104 very close to Machu Picchu. The maximum height found on the route is 2700 meters above sea level and with a distance of 15 kilometers of route. Highly recommended for families and people who do not need a lot of physical effort on walks.

Km 104 – Chachabamba – Wiñay Huayna – Machu Picchu The main attraction of the 2-day Inca Trail is the archaeological complex of Wiñayhuayna. Wiñay Huayna (in Quechua, Wiñay Wayna: “eternally young”) is an Inca archaeological site in Cuzco. It is located on the Inca Trail, 3.3 km (in a straight line) to the south-southeast of Machu Picchu, between Puyupatamarca and Intipunku (the “door of the Sun”, entrance to Machu Picchu). Also known as km 104 Inca trail.


Early pick up from your hotel to the Ollantaytambo train station; Where we will board the train at approximately 06:10 a.m. We will continue the train journey in an approximate time of 1 hour and 30 minutes until KM 104. In place, there is the access control where we will have to present our ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS to be registered. Then, we will start the Inca Trail, through the archaeological site of Chachabamba, then we will begin the ascent of the mountain for approximately three hours to reach the archaeological complex of Wiñayhuayna at (2,650 masl / 8,694 feet). Where we will have a break to have our lunch. Continuing we will arrive at “Intipunku” (Puerta del Sol). From here, we can have one of the classic views of Machu Picchu after taking some photos, we will go to the entry control point and then take our bus to “Aguas Calientes” town where we will spend the night in a hotel.


After breakfast at the hotel, we will take the first bus to the Inca city of Machu Picchu, after collecting our tickets at the control point; We will visit the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu, which lasts 2 hours, After a pleasant experience in Machu Picchu, we will have to return to “Aguas Calientes”, to take our train back to Ollantaytambo, arriving in Ollantaytambo we will have transportation to continue to Cusco, where they will be dropped off at your hotel.
